As we head into these final days before the elections, we have been continually reminded that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, and spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places (Eph 6:12). Recently, we received a report of a high-level occultic attack against President Trump to pray for his death around the time of the election. Monday, November 5th has been specifically targeted. This is not the kind of witchcraft activity that you will find publicized on the internet. Neither are we going to trumpet this alarm to the entire nation. However, we felt strongly that we were to mobilize our covenant prayer community here at The Briefing as we seek your partnership in addressing this assault.
For those who are new to The Briefing, we have been in a 40-day prayer focus from September 28th - November 6th contending for a clean sweep of the Senate and the House and for the removal of the roots of corruption. Now, as we continue to “Hold the Hill” and counter this concentrated thrust of occultic warfare, we invite you to join our team in a three-day Esther Fast from Saturday night through Election Day on Tuesday. Many of us will be fasting food and water, but we encourage you to fast in whatever measure you feel led. Meanwhile, let us draw encouragement from Derek Prince’s book Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting, where he tells how Esther’s fast brought deliverance and victory for the entire Jewish nation…
“The outcome of their collective fasting and prayer is… that the whole policy of the Persian empire was completely changed in favor of the Jews. Haman and his sons perished. The enemies of the Jews throughout the Persian empire suffered total defeat. Mordecai and Esther became the two most influential personalities in Persian politics. The Jews in every area experienced a unique measure of favor, peace, and prosperity. All this can be directly attributed to one cause: the collective fasting and prayer of God’s people.” p.115
What might it look like for America to experience this level of change in favor of God, His people, and His precepts? These are the kinds of promises waiting to be realized, but it will take a unified effort between President Trump, Congress, and the Supreme Court to bring this to pass. Therefore, the protection of our president and the importance of these midterm elections cannot be overemphasized.
As we fast November 4-6, we are also calling for noon-time prayer throughout the U.S. according to each region’s time-zone. This will allow for several hours of synchronized intercession across the country. Let’s stir up our zeal, submit ourselves to God in prayer, and execute the victory of the cross of Christ over the powers of darkness that are at work in this time.
1) Exalt the Lord with high praises - Ps 149, 2 Chr 20:20-22.
2) Plead the blood of Jesus over our nation and president - Eph 1:7.
3) Bless President Trump according to Psalm 20.
4) Pray in the Spirit - Eph 6:18
5) Decree the exposing of wicked plans - Luke 8:17, Eph 5:13.
