065- Life, Liberty and Justices!
Letter From the Editor
Greetings to you all and great grace to those being pressed out in the olive press of fasting. You are in good company! We are now one week into the 40-Day Global Jesus Fast and the Lord has been leading us in a daily ascent up the mountain of the Lord. Often the targets of our intercession do not change, but as we reach new heights of understanding and authority, our ability to hit those targets does. In today’s Briefing you will read how God continues to build on the Daniel theme that was highlighted in our last post. I hope you are encouraged at the great invitation that lies before us to shape history through prayer and fasting.

Life, Liberty and Justices!
Chris Berglund had a recent dream in which we were standing in our original prayer room on Capitol Hill. In real life, the room was shaped like an arrowhead that pointed directly at the Supreme Court. In the dream, Lou Engle was facing the court declaring, "Life, liberty and we’re going to pursue justices!” Then Lou said, “We need 2020 revelation like Daniel had. We’re going to go through The Send. We’re going to go through the elections. We’re going to go through the end of the year!”
This dream speaks to us of an elongated season of battles, from now through the end of the year, in which we will need Daniel-type revelation to function at the highest levels of governmental authority in intercession. We believe the decree of “life” that went forth in the dream is directly related to abortion. “Liberty” speaks of religious liberty that is necessary for the discipling of our nation. Also, Chris understood in the dream that “pursuing justices” had to do with the Supreme Court justices as well as multiple justice issues that we have been specifically given to steward in this hour.
Just this week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments for a Louisiana abortion case. Though this particular case does not have the ability to challenge the precedent of Roe V. Wade, it will impact the power of individual states to enact abortion restrictions within their borders. This is the first abortion-related case to be taken up by the court since Justice Kavanaugh joined the bench. The nation is watching to see which way Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Roberts will rule, but the saints of God cannot afford to be spectators in this hour.
We recently received the following dream from our friend Matt Lockett, Executive Director of Bound4LIFE International and Justice House of Prayer DC:
I had a dream in February that I was speaking with a critic about the ending of abortion. I couldn’t tell if I was in the present time or in the future, but I talked about the overturning of Roe v. Wade as a certainty. I then began to explain how the abortion question will then go to all the states. I said, “So, of course, abortion will immediately be illegal in 25 states.” When I said that, it seemed to be a statement that was more about half the nation rather than a specific number of states. I then said, “But we’re not going to stop there. We’re going to keep pushing. Even California is not too difficult for God.” This seemed to shock and confuse the critic. Then I said, “After we push to get righteous leaders in all the places of influence, imagine what will be possible afterwards.” When I said that, the emphasis was on a future moment when abortion ends and we then turn our attention to other matters, because the right people are in the right places. I then declared loudly, “Righteousness exalts a nation!” Suddenly, I felt pulled back into the present moment when I knew that none of this has happened yet. I was standing alone next to an armchair in a living room. I was overwhelmed with grief and travail and I knelt down on the floor in the small space between the chair and wall - too small for me to fit - but I crammed my body in there. I was overcome with emotion and tears as I began to pray for the nation. The swell of travail woke me up.
Perhaps the 40 days of this fast is but a small space compared to the 47 years that legalized abortion has ravaged our nation. However, much can be accomplished when the saints of God cram themselves into the crevice of history with prayer and fasting. The prophet Joel admonished, “Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare your people, O Lord…(Joel 2:17)” During Israel’s captivity, the prophet Daniel took it upon himself to bear the iniquity of his people in prayer and repentance before the Lord (Daniel 9). God responded immediately by sending the angel Gabriel to Daniel with affirmation and insight (Dan 9:21-23). Ultimately, God's response was to answer Daniel’s petitions by releasing the Jewish people back to their land of inheritance.
While writing this Briefing today, we received word from one of our team members enroute to Massachusetts to join us in prayer. He had just awakened from a brief nap in which he dreamed that he came to us saying, “I just had a dream God is inviting us into Daniel!” He knew this meant the book of Daniel but it also meant the impartation of Daniel's revelation and the grace that was upon his life.
Let’s believe God for this “2020 revelation like Daniel had”. Let’s ask him to impart to us the same grace that Daniel walked in. Throughout this fast, let us also take up the cause of the unborn in daily prayer. Pray for the Supreme Court justices, for their decision in the Louisiana case, for the future overturning of Roe V. Wade, for righteous leaders to be put in place. On behalf of life and liberty, it’s time to “pursue justices” like never before!
