THE BRIEFING 009 - NORTH KOREA

In a recent dream just a few days before Azusa Now Cleveland, Chris Berglund saw the flag of America tied up with the flag of North Korea. He knew there were plans and strategies of darkness that would be very troublesome if allowed to go unchecked. In the dream, Chris was told that we must “pray against and stop the war that the enemy is wanting to prematurely start.” This dream left us prayerful and on high alert to understand more of how to direct our prayers.
Then, last Friday, we received another dream from a man named Dr. Jonathan Welton who founded and directs an online ministry school called The Welton Academy. In Jonathan’s dream, Lou Engle was one of four leaders releasing a stream of prayer against three demonic principalities. These demons were identified as: Autarch (an absolute ruler), Arrogance, and Ancestral Momentum, and they were directly influencing Kim Jong Un, the dictator of North Korea. In the dream, Lou was seen as specifically countering the spirit of Ancestral Momentum until it was defeated and replaced with an angel called New Creation. Jonathan also witnessed the spirit of Autarch being defeated and replaced by an angel called Servant Leadership and the demon of Arrogance being replaced by an angel called Humility. Before receiving the details of Jonathan’s dream, Chris Berglund had another dream in which Lou was reading Isaiah 59 over North Korea, and specifically over Kim Jong Un. Amazingly in the dream, the last verse of Isaiah 59 was being highlighted in a way of an ancestral cry for mercy.
“As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.” Isaiah 59:21
This scripture and these dreams take on even more meaning in light of Kim Jong Un’s actual ancestry. Kim is the 3rd generation of “supreme rulers” in North Korea, preceded by his father Kim Jong Il and his grandfather Kim Il Sung, who led the country from its establishment in 1948. Surprisingly, Kim Il Sung’s parents and grandparents were actually protestant Christians who were supposedly very active in their religious communities. However, Kim Il Sung (who changed his name from Kim Song Ju) departed from his Christian roots as a youth and embraced marxist and communist ideologies. His descendants carried on in his footsteps. The “momentum” of their ancestral leadership has become increasingly absolute and abusive in their use of power to the point where North Korea has become the most repressive nation in the contemporary world. The people of North Korea have suffered greatly beneath this crushing regime and continue to languish due to grave violations of human rights.
Now, as global tensions escalate, we find ourselves at the threshold of nuclear threat and potential war with this rogue nation. The very powers that have tightened their grip of death and destruction on the people of North Korea also seek to extend their reach beyond their own borders. However, in Jonathan Welton’s dream, the prayers of the saints overturned the power structure in the spiritual realm which had dramatic effects in the natural. He saw Kim Jong Un being visited in the night with dreams and actually waking with cold sweats. It was like a Nebuchadnezzar situation (Daniel 4) that brought about a great turning in this man and eventually led to the dismantling of all that had been built in his country.
We believe, as does Jonathan, that this is an invitation - not a done deal. Revelation demands participation! After seven decades of escalating bondage, let us not miss this hinge-of-history moment to contend for the freedom of our North Korean brothers and sisters. It’s time to pray the prophetic directives that we’ve received thus far and bring about the deliverance that God so desires for them and their leaders. As the Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, “This charge I entrust to you... in accordance with the prophecies previously made... that by them you may wage the good warfare.” 1 Tim 1:18

1 - Stand in the gap between North Korea and America and resist the onset of premature war and any further entanglement between these two nations.
2 - Stand in the gap between the demonic power of Ancestral Momentum and Kim Jong Un and agree with the ancestral cry of mercy that resonates with the cross of Christ over this man and this nation. Let’s bind and dismantle the strongholds that are keeping them in darkness.
3 - Pray that God will visit Kim Jong Un in the night as he did King Nebuchadnezzar who wrote: “I had a dream that made me afraid. The thoughts that went through my mind while in bed and the visions in my head terrified me.” Daniel 4:5
4 - Also pray for President Trump and our nation’s leadership to be given great wisdom in their dealings with Kim and North Korea, that they might act according to God’s heart for this country and it’s forgotten people.
