In our last Briefing, we reviewed a collection of prophetic data that preceded Billy Graham’s passing and foreshadowed a historic shift into a new evangelistic era. Today’s Briefing relays keen insight into a remarkable dream that unlocks a veritable treasure map for those seeking to steward the anointings of prior generations. We believe this is a transitional year and an important time to enter into extended fasting as we seek God’s face and position ourselves to be mantled for the task ahead. Let’s not miss this moment!

THE BRIEFING 022 - 40 STEPS EAST

At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals and angels attended him. Mark 1:9-13
When Billy Graham died it seemed the whole earth was caught up into a moment of wonder. To many, that moment will pass like a shooting star. But to those who have eyes to see, they will take this wonder and turn it into a mighty work.
The passing of Billy Graham is a sign to us all that the days of Jesus the Evangelist are dawning once again. We must seize the day! I remember the prayer fires that burned after 9/11. For two weeks the Church prayed. Then, we settled back to normal. Friends, it’s time to be wisemen. We must follow the star until we find Him. Billy Graham was like a star that lit up the sky. The scriptures say in Daniel 12:3, "Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” We must not go back to normal.
We know a student who had the following dream a few weeks ago:
In the dream Billy Graham had died and left these words to be read after his passing: “I have hidden a treasure for those who seek to find. The treasure map is in The Book.” Knowing The Book to mean the Bible, I opened my Bible and immediately turned to a treasure map that read:
“Go to the river. Find the strongest, most well-rooted tree. Take 40
steps east into the wilderness from the strongest tree. There dig.”
So, I followed the instructions on the map: went to the river, found the strongest tree, took 40 steps eastward from the tree into the wilderness, and began digging. Six feet down I found a wooden treasure chest that was shaped like a coffin. In the chest was an endless number of sickles. I thought, “A man could spend his entire life giving away these sickles and would never give them all away!” Inscribed into the wood on the inside of the chest were the words, “The harvest is ripe. Equip the laborers.” Also in the chest was a purple, satin, drawstring bag filled with golden stardust. I knew that no matter how much of the stardust I took from the bag, the bag would stay full and never empty.
Then, the dream shifted and I was taken up above the earth. I saw thousands upon tens-of-thousands of people all over the world finding these same chests with the same contents and the same inscription. The dream shifted again and I was surrounded by people. I held in my hand the purple bag and I was taking golden stardust out of it and sprinkling it over the heads and the shoulders of the people around me. As the stardust settled on them it formed into stars on the left side of their chests. I knew the stars to be military rankings which seemed to be even higher than the rank of a General. After the stars fully formed on their chests, I handed each person a sickle.
I believe this dream is about the mantle of Elijah coming upon Elisha for double portion spiritual activity. It’s also about the mantle of John the Baptist resting on Jesus, the very Tree of Life, by the river Jordan. There Jesus heard the words, “You are my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased” and was baptized into his evangelistic ministry. Before Jesus initiated his preaching and healing movement, the Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness for 40 days to fast. He came out with the power instruments of evangelism. I believe Jesus' pattern for evangelistic power IS the treasure map found in “The Book."
It’s in the 40-day fast that we dig and find the ancient sickles of those who have gone before us, like Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborn, Billy Graham and Bill Bright. I am convinced that there we will find the gold dust of heaven, the golden anointing oil, and the angelic ministry that follows the fast of Jesus. I believe we are in the hour where many who are seeking God in obscurity are being forged into Generals of evangelism. The glory is coming on them! They will come out of the fast and lead many to righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who sit in darkness will see a great light!
A new Jesus Movement is at the threshold. Do not miss this moment! Like Elisha of old, lift your eyes and see Billy Graham ascended, as Jesus Christ ascended, into the heavens. Grab the mantle that is falling down! Across the earth, let thousands and tens-of-thousands enter into Jesus' fast. Let us find the treasures that are hidden in Christ.
PRAYER: Father, may this glorious passing of Billy Graham evoke in your people a response that lasts for a lifetime. Do not let this be like that demonic moment at 9/11. Open our eyes to see and understand the times. Drive us, by your Spirit, into the wilderness with your Son.
