023 - Ten Days for Luke 4:18

As most of you are aware, TheCall has been in an extended season of fasting for the Latter Rain outpourings of the Holy Spirit. Thousands partnered with us in the recent 40-Day Global Fast that finished on Good Friday. Hundreds more are now in the home stretch of the California Dreamin’ Fast which has been extended to April 18th. We believe California is ground zero for a move of God that will impact the nation and the world. Therefore, in today’s Briefing we’ll be sharing with you a flurry of prophetic activity that has led to a sudden prayer gathering on California’s Central Coast. There, from April 9th to the 18th, we will be stewarding one of the most significant prophecies that God has entrusted to this generation. THE BRIEFING 023 - TEN DAYS FOR LUKE 4:18

From the manger of Bonnie Brae Street, to the tent meetings of a young Billy Graham, to the storefront churches of the Jesus Movement, California has been a historic birthplace of revivals that have swept across the earth. We believe God is doing it again.
 
A BIRTHING CITY
Last year Lou Engle travelled to Santa Maria, California to preach in the Healing Rooms. He pulled into the parking lot with his wife Therese and they waited on God for a moment, asking Him what He wanted to say to the congregation. Crystal clear the mind of God distilled upon Lou’s heart, “Tell them this is Santa Maria, Saint Mary, and a new Jesus Movement will be birthed from this city.” Lou then went into the meeting and Rick Taylor, the director of the Healing Rooms, got up before Lou had a chance to share and he said, “This is Santa Maria, named after Saint Mary, for here a fresh Jesus Movement will be birthed.” Lou was stunned at the confirmation.
 
HOME OF PAUL CAIN
Also in the city of Santa Maria lives a man named Paul Cain, whose prophetic ministry has impacted the globe for decades. Paul was a part of the great healing revivals 70 years ago in the late 40’s and 50’s. His extraordinary life, and even his birth, have been a sign of something yet to come.
 
MIRACULOUS BEGINNINGS
Paul’s mother’s name was Anna. She was a prophetess in her own right. When Anna was 44 years old, she was pregnant with Paul. However, she had four major terminal diseases and was told she would not live long enough for the baby to be born. At home, Anna, bedridden and near death, wasted away to skin and bones. Then, one midnight hour, she was in prayer and the Angel of the Lord appeared at her bedside. The angel put His hand on her shoulder and said, "Daughter, be of good cheer, be not afraid, you shall live and not die, the fruit of your womb shall be a male child. Name him Paul. He shall preach My gospel as did Apostle Paul of old." Anna was completely healed and carried her child to term.
 
PAUL’S STADIUM VISION
Paul Cain saw extraordinary miracles and walked closely with the spiritual giants of his day. Over a hundred times he saw visions of football stadiums being filled with signs and wonders, and the raising of the dead, led by nameless, faceless men and women. Paul was shown that the media would cover the mass harvest of those days saying, “No bad news tonight - only good news!” We believe that Paul’s supernatural birth and his recurring vision are a sign testifying of a coming era where Jesus will be so manifested in his love and power, healing and deliverance that all of America will be shaken with the gospel.

A DEATHBED PROPHECY
Another 60 years after Anna Cain’s miraculous healing, she found herself on her deathbed once again. This time, at 104 years old, she was ready to go home. Anna told her son Paul that the Lord had one last prophetic word for him that He would speak through her death. She said it would be the most important prophecy she would have ever given her son. Then, Anna slipped into a coma. Weeks passed until one night Anna woke out of the coma to say, “Paul, the Lord is going to release over your life and over the body of Christ across the world - Luke 4:18!” After prophesying, she slipped back into a coma again and died the next day on April 18th at 4:18 in the afternoon.
 
LUKE 4:18
This was the most important prophecy Anna ever uttered: “Luke 4:18 for Paul and for the whole body of Christ!” That means you and me. Luke describes in chapter 4 how Jesus came out of the wilderness in the power of the Holy Spirit, entered the synagogue, opened the scroll of Isaiah and read these words: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” This was Jesus’ inaugural address - the very job description of His earthly ministry, as written in the scroll. And now it is ours! The same Spirit that rested upon Jesus to perform these words is coming to light upon a new generation of prophetic messengers utterly devoted to His will and His glory.

TEN DAYS
This brings us back around to Santa Maria. We had planned to end our 40-day California Dreamin’ Fast there on April 9th. Then, a few weeks ago one of our leaders had a dream in which Lou held up a leather belt, counted off ten notches and asked, “Who would be willing to extend your fast ten days?” As we pondered this dream before the Lord, faith erupted in our hearts to elongate our fasting. We shared the dream with several leaders in Santa Maria and decided together to hold ten days of gatherings in this city named after Saint Mary. So, we are calling all of California, starting April 9th, to ten days of concerted prayer through April 18th. The date of 4/18 punctuated for us Luke 4:18 and the backdrop of Anna Cain’s prophecy, which we believe is on the threshold of fulfillment. Therefore, our one agenda for these ten days is to linger before the Lord in prayer and worship as we contend together for the scroll of Jesus that was opened in Luke 4:18 to be manifested through a generation of His sons and daughters. 
 
AN UPPER ROOM
For those who can’t join us on the Central Coast, consider setting apart these ten days to gather with fellow saints in your own region. What if churches opened their doors for prayer? What if families and friends gathered, even by 2’s and 3’s, in their living rooms? The disciples and close followers of Jesus had gathered in an upper room for ten days between Acts 1 and Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit fell at Pentecost. Then, in the Spring of 1906, William Seymour gathered with about a dozen other believers for ten days of fasting and prayer in a little house on Bonnie Brae Street when heaven crashed in. The “upper room” became a birthing room. What could it mean for California, for our nation, for the world, if God was to find an upper room company once again?
