091 - The Yeshua Fast Begins
THE YESHUA FAST BEGINS
Today, April 14th, 2021, as we start our 40-day Yeshua Fast, we set our faces towards Zion. Not only have we come to Mount Zion, the heavenly city of the living God (Heb 12:22), but we set our faces towards natural Zion, the actual city of Jerusalem, and to the Jewish peoples across the earth whom the Lord loves with an everlasting love.
There are five main prayer objectives that we feel led to pursue together in this fast:
1. GET UNDERSTANDING
Back in 2006, during one of our foundational 40-day fasts, Chris Berglund dreamed that we were walking on a rugged path to a crystal clear lake that was shaped like a pair of eyeglasses. It was called Spectacle Lake. In the dream the Lord wanted us to immerse ourselves in the waters of this lake so He could baptize us with understanding of His heart for Israel and for the times in which we live. We believe the lake represents the 40-day fast. Our hope is that in these next six weeks we will go deeper than we’ve ever gone before in gaining revelation of God’s heart for Israel.
It’s also very significant to us that the start of this fast happens to align with the anniversary of a supernatural event that occurred on April 14th, 1983. It was on that day that Bob Jones came to Mike Bickle with a message from the angel Gabriel who told him, “Give the young man Daniel 9 and he will understand.” There’s more to that story, but Daniel chapter 9 tells of how the angel Gabriel literally came to the prophet Daniel during his fast to give him “insight and understanding” of what would happen with Israel at the end of the age. We’re convinced that this is one of our primary needs in this hour, to see and know what God is doing, especially concerning His people Israel. So, let’s posture our hearts with sobriety and expectation as we seek understanding.
2. PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF ISRAEL
Ezekiel 36 prophesies of a time when the Israelites would reinhabit the land of their inheritance and God would encounter and transform them at a deep heart level.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
Our generation, and the generation before us, have had the astounding privilege of watching the unfolding of this dramatic biblical prophecy right before our eyes, with the Jews returning to the land and many coming to faith in the Messiah. Yet, this privilege also comes with responsibility. May we partner in prayer with the Holy One of Israel until His words have fully come to pass and all of Israel is saved (Rom 11:26).
3. RELEASE RUTH’S VOW
Ever since the profound dream in Israel in which we received a phone call from four Ruths, we have been envisioned for a global turning of the Gentile Church to our Jewish brothers and sisters saying, “Your people shall be my people and your God shall be my God.” During this fast, let’s pray and believe for this vow of Ruth’s to be released deep into the hearts of Gentile believers. Let’s also intercede for false ideologies such as “replacement theology” to be broken off the Church and for breakthrough against anti-semitic paradigms and spirits that have set individuals and nations against God’s covenant people.
4. PRAY FOR LABORERS TO THE LOST SHEEP OF ISRAEL
It seems from world events and prophetic indicators, that we are at a tipping point for global harvest. Likewise, we know that Israel is key to world revival. Therefore, even as we believe for the light of the gospel to go to every tribe and tongue, let us focus now in prayer for laborers to be thrust into the harvest fields of Israel, and from there, to the ends of the earth.
5. PRAY FOR THE RAISING UP OF GOD'S EKKLESIA IN THE LAND
There is a growing remnant of Messianic Jews and Gentile believers within the land of Israel who are truly watchmen on the walls. Let us pray for them and for their increase, that the Ekklesia would prevail against the spiritual powers of wickedness in heavenly places.
