The presidential debates have begun and America is entering another election cycle. Elections always remind me of when Joshua first entered the Promised Land and encountered a man with a drawn sword in his hand (Josh 5). Joshua asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” “Neither,” he replied, “but as Commander of the Lord’s army I have now come.” We believe the Captain of the Hosts is coming to us in these days that we might join Him in heavenly warfare. In today’s Briefing we share the prophetic dreams which have given us urgency. We hope you’ll join us in the upcoming days of prayer, as history is in the making.

THE RACE BEGINS
Though we are 14 months out from America’s next presidential election, the race begins now. We invite you to join us from the evening of September 4th through the evening of September 25th as our team partners with the intercessors of Iowa and Nebraska in fasting and prayer for the upcoming primaries. What happens over these next 21 days could greatly impact the future of our nation.
Back in 2000, when former President George W. Bush and John McCain were battling it out in the primaries, we received a jarring dream. In the dream, our prophetic friend Nicolas saw a spiritual war in the heavens over the primary elections on the ground below. A voice spoke to him, saying, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and render unto God that which is God’s.”
We understood from the dream that we couldn’t wait to let the primaries run their course and then begin to pray for the national election further down the road. This would leave the primaries up to the political process alone, thereby rendering to Caesar that which belonged to God. The dream showed us we must win the battle in the heavens over the primaries to ensure that God would have the candidate of His choosing in the race. Here we are once again as 2024 quickly approaches. It's time to pray!
Chris Berglund also had a significant dream in which he saw Iowa spelled IIOWA with a smiley face beneath the letters. The Lord made it clear to him that this stood for “Iowa Intercessors Over White House Affairs”. The Lord was saying that Iowa would make Him smile when it prayed over White House Affairs. Chris was unaware that the smiley face had also become an iconic symbol associated with the state of Iowa. But when the Iowan intercessors heard the dream, they smiled all the more.
We know that Iowa is usually the first state to hold its presidential nominating caucuses and that it has often been considered a bellwether state in its voting. However, the dream suggests that there is an invitation extended to God’s people in Iowa to also lead the race in the spiritual realm. The Intercessors at the Heartland House of Prayer in Council Bluffs, Iowa have taken this word very seriously. Presently, they have erected a tent for the duration of the upcoming fast to accommodate day and night prayer over the primaries. If you live locally, consider their invitation below:
Beginning on September 5, we will begin each day with prayer from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and will conclude each day with two hours of worship in the tent from 6:30-8:30 PM. We are calling not only Iowa Intercessors to join us, but also those in Nebraska.
For the rest of us, let’s heed the heavenly charge to stand in the gap with them over the primaries. Also, as we fast together, we are anticipating the release of prophetic dreams and visions.
